Given that only three parents are willing to have their child participate in in person learning at this time, we have decided to defer our decision to open and to re-evaluate in a month. We cannot run a successful Distance Learning Program and staff the School appropriately and responsibly for three students. November may be both a critical and clarifying month. One would expect increased infection rates for COVID-19 and the beginning of flu. If our health system is able to: successfully manage an increase in rates with effective policies and protocols; faster and more efficient testing; and (ideally) with the introduction of therapeutics that safely mitigate the severity of the illness, I believe we will have turned a corner which will allow families to be more willing and open to having their children return to their classrooms.
